Little Kickers Program
LRU's Little Kickers Program provides soccer skill drills for players less than age 5.
The program is split up into two groups usually: First Kick and Tiny Tots.
First Kick is geared for children under 4, this program helps develop fundamental motor skills and hand-eye coordination, while providing an opportunity for social interaction and bonding with a parent or guardian.
Tiny Tots is ideal for children ages 4-5 who have some experience playing soccer, can listen and follow directions, and are comfortable without caregiver support.
EDP was designed for players age 6 to 9 with the following objectives:
Build strong fundamentals • Create an environment for success
Promote healthy competition and fair play • Challenge every athlete
Keep it simple, fun, and local!
Practices
Structured development activities will break complex skills down into simple tasks to teach fundamentals.
Core activities will be repeated to minimize "talk time" and promote muscle memory.
Skill development will focus on:
Dribbling:
Moves, fakes, feints and dribbling at speed with confidence
Passing & Receiving:
Strong on-target passing and first touch to control play
Shooting:
Shot mechanics and technique
Each practice will include small-sided games to maximize touches
and allow players to use what they have learned in a risk-free environment.
Athletes will play 3v3 or 4v4 intra-club officiated games on the weekend.
